Ecolibrium is a grid scale Virtual Power Plant (VPP) which aggregates the generation, storage and consumption potential of our customers’ assets and ensures they can financially benefit from the provision of flexibility services in the energy and ancillary markets.

Furthermore, our VPP also enables renewable generation assets to participate in and benefit from delivering flexibility to the Grid.

The Ecolibrium platform is our proprietary, cloud-based end to end optimisation model, with command-and-control hardware, data analytics and a visualisation portal. It ensures that assets are deployed to the highest value services throughout the day, throughout the year.

Created by green energy pioneers Ecotricity, the decision-making engine sits at the heart of the platform. It combines years of trading experience and energy service provision with modern software and cutting-edge computational skills. The hardware we use provides robust, secure data transmission to and from our software platform to ensure not only timely dispatch of assets but also crucial monitoring and alerts to ensure safe operation.

Developed in-house, Ecolink is an intelligent communication unit that integrates energy assets with our Virtual Power Plant. Working in tandem with our Ecolibrium software, it provides the control instructions to assets in line with the optimisation decision making.

Our installation team will connect and maintain the communication unit, liaising with operations and maintenance personnel with minimal business disruption.
